Tyanna Elise Jones (born August 8,1998) is an American singer from Jacksonville, Florida who finished in 5th place on season 14 of American Idol.
Background[]
Jones is the middle of eleven children. She spent months living homeless with her family in the local pastor church. She started singing with the choir as voice major in Douglas Anderson School of the Arts at the age of five. She and her mother flew to San Francisco, which was the last venue of auditions, after they earned enough money for the trip. Tyanna is currently a student at West Side High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She also takes classes with Florida Virtual School. She cites Prince, Michael Jackson & Beyonce as her musical influences.

Jones auditioned with "Wings" by Little Mix in San Francisco and earned a ticket to Hollywood. She performed Olly Murs' "Dance With Me Tonight" and "Try" by Colbie Caillat which advanced her to Showcase Week. She sang "Love on Top" by Beyonce" during the Top 24 and "Rockin' Robin" by Bobby Day during the Top 16. She was voted into the Finals and performed "Wings" by Little Mix during the Top 12. She advanced into the Top 11 where she sang "Tightrope" by Janelle Monae and "Circle of Life" by Elton John. During the Top 9, she performed "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" by Whitney Houston and "Mr. Know It All" by Kelly Clarkson for the Top 8. For the Top 7, she performed "Stay" by RIhanna feat. Mikky Ekko and was voted into the Top 6. For the Top 6 she performed "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers and "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and advanced to the Top 5. For the Top 5 she perforemd "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus and "Heaven" by Bryce Williams and was eliminated finishing in 5th place over all.
